Everything ‘RHOSLC’ Stars Have Said About Mary Cosby

Mary Cosby remained a topic of controversy during her time on ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,’ and this is what her castmates have said about her.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby did not attend the season three reunion earlier this year, because she was reportedly scared to face the producers and her co-stars over her many controversies. She has been a cast member of the franchise for the first two controversial seasons, by not appearing at the reunion it is considered the kiss of death. It is unlikely she will make any more appearances on the Bravo reality show.

“This was the kiss of death for Mary. She hardly has any alliances left in the cast, who hoped she would have shown up to the reunion to take accountability for her behavior and the allegations about her church,” a source told Page Six.

Cosby has faced allegations of running a cult and has fallen out with her co-stars – Jen Shah, Meredith Marks, Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose and Jennie Nguyen- over racist remarks. So what have Mary Cosby’s fellow housewives said about her?

Whitney Rose appeared on “Housewives Nightcap” before season 2 aired, she revealed she was not talking to Mary Cosby. She mentioned that friendship she formally had with Cosby was fractured because of rumors around the church Cosby runs. Cosby has been plagued with accusations of running a cult.

“Mary won’t speak to me, so I, unfortunately, don’t have the opportunity to talk to her about it,” the entrepreneur and housewife said. “That’s the type of friend I am. I will go put out the fires and then shut the door and be like, ‘Girl, what is going on? But she never affords me the respect of that conversation. So it’s been hard, it’s hard not to believe it when you can’t really get an answer on the other side.”

Cosby attacked Rose back by tweeting, “This girl is so hungry, how dare you speak on me… We are not friends and never will be. I don’t even know what this is. She’s so fake! I can’t!… You are such a liar! Whitney Rose. You know you don’t talk to me! With your Bobble Head! Humble yourself.” During the first season, Rose supported Cosby when fans and other cast members we less kind.

In a third tweet, Cosby said, “Whitney Rose is the Biggest liar. Everything she does, she is told to d! You need to stop lying on me because your [sic] being the most the season with your pole dancing mentality. You and I will never be friends. Why would I talk to a fake Whitney?”

Lisa Barlow told Page Six last year that she thinks the rumors about Mary Cosby are “crazy.” But she admits that she’s “never gone down the rabbit hole with” her co-star.

“From what I’m told, there’s so much stuff online that is crazy,” Barlow, 46 told the media outlet. Lisa Barlow did, however, make it clear that she trusts Cameron Williams’, who appeared on the show talking about the cult-like church, opinion because of his experience with past “spiritual trauma.”

“I believe him, I believe his feelings,” she said. “I believe he was an amazing person, I believe he had an amazing heart. It’s important for people to hear his side and what he went through because it might be healing and helpful for people to hear what Cameron said to me.”

Lisa’s behavior on the show had been questioned, as she often acted like a middle man between Mary and the other women. This did not go down well when Mary Cosby started making racist comments.

“[Lisa Barlow] said ‘the way they’re [the women] talking’ about Mary- when SHE was the one who brought up the news articles, blogs, and YouTube videos? Sweetie this is snake behavior,” one Twitter user commented after watching the show.

“I spoke to Mary about ALL OF IT- sorry you didn’t get to see it BUT it was all discussed,” Lisa explained.

4. Jennie Nguyen Fires Back At Mary Cosby

The now-fired housewife, Jennie Nguyen, didn’t get along with Mary Cosby throughout the whole season of the reality show, after Cosby made inappropriate comments about Nguyen’s, who was born in Vietnam, eyes.

“Racism, in any form, is RACISM!” Jennie wrote in the now-deleted tweet. “This is what my husband and I grew up with daily. To be silent, or to laugh while someone is being racist, is to be complicit.” In a second tweet, she added, “I hope that one day that my children, and yours, will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Let’s [sic] us use our privilege to end HATE.”

During Lisa Barlow’s Vida Tequila finale party, things came to a heated conclusion between the pair. As Mary walked away from the group, Jennie shouted, “Oh, run away … Run the f—k away because you don’t have nothing to say, Mary.” Then, she threw a glass in Mary’s direction, which thankfully hit no one.

Nguyen took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “Yellow skin, slanted eyes, mocking my accent, Jennie from the hood, and finally little Asian. That was my breaking point! I did not throw the glass at anyone, I threw it on the FLOOR!” Cosby has yet to speak about the finale and did not go to the reunion.

Nyugen was fired from the show after the discovery of her old social Facebook account where she shared controversial memes considered racist and anti-vax.

3. Are Meredith Marks And Mary Cosby Still Friends?

Meredith Marks was probably Mary Cosby’s closest friend from the girls on the cast. Following Mary Cosby’s absence from the reunion and subsequent firing from the franchise, Meredith Marks was asked on Twitter why she was still on the show. A fan said, “Why are you still on the show? It seems like you hate it.” Meredith replied, “Good question. I should quit since most of the women enjoy spreading lies about me and my family. Not a problem.”

Meredith tweeted, “I am not protecting Mary. I am protecting myself from the combative energy that seems to always happen with this group. I am tired of being yelled at and spoken to in a contentious manner and chose to disengage.” Meredith upset fans after continuing her loyalty to Mary, even after she made racist comments to Jennie.

She later added, “I later talked to Mary one on one in hopes that would be productive. I also made sure Jennie knew that she has my support. Please be patient.”

This angered Mary, who responded with, “Really Meredith?? You had a conversation with me hoping it would be productive!! You was there… you seen I was coming from a place of a compliment!… Stop acting like your teaching me..you have your own issues to be productive on…You never have the right answer.. ‘Switzerland.”

Meredith spoke with E! News in April and reveal that she had spoken to Mary that morning. “She was just chitchatting away. I was actually with a friend last night who was asking about her,” Meredith explained to the outlet. “I was like, ‘Oh, let’s call her.’ And we left her [a] voice mail. She called me back this morning.” The jewelry designer added, “She’s doing great. She’s very happy. She’s at peace with everything.”

2. What Does Heather Gay Think Of Mary Cosby?

According to Heather Gay, Mary Cosby likes to use her lack of a husband to insult her. “She says, ‘You look like a man, that’s why you don’t have a man,’” Gay explained during The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show. Cosby has also allegedly told Gay, “You don’t have a husband, why are you even here — this is a housewives show. You can’t be a wife without a man.”

“[Mary isn’t] just degrading me,” Gay said during the After Show. “You are degrading every single woman and single mother out there and that I won’t stand for.”

1. Jen Shah Feels Like People Treat Her Unfairly In Comparison To Mary Cosby

Jen Shah feels that the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast treats her differently from Mary Cosby.

While appearing on the March 7 episode of the RHOSLC: After Show, Shah, who is currently in the middle of a money laundering and fraud trial, said that she didn’t understand why Mary Cosby, who was accused of running a cult-like church, didn’t face as many questions as she did.

“All these things are being talked about and nobody wants to confront Mary with it though. And so it’s this double standard where I’m like, ‘Listen, if there is one little peep about Jen Shah, we’re having a come to Jesus faux luncheon. We’re all going to confront her,’” Shah said

“It’s not the same with everybody and that’s the part I don’t understand,” Shah continued. “But nobody will talk about it with Mary. Nobody will have the discussion.” She also accused Meredith Marks of being hypocritical for confronting Shah when no victims have come forward to suggest she’s wronged them in any way, unlike Cosby who has also been accused of fraud.

“There’s no victims. There’s no anybody out there saying, ‘I was wronged by Jen Shah.’ There’s none of that. There are real people putting this out about Mary. Why do you have the double standard? It doesn’t make any sense.”
